Consolidation of supply chain operations by Advantis 3PL Plus for a Leading Global Thread Manufacturer
The provision of logistics services to the client commenced with the operational takeover by Advantis of the client’s main storage location in Wattala, the transit warehouse in Horana and the product distribution respectively. At the time the operating model required the client to dispatch two deliveries to the same location from both their Wattala warehouse as well as their Horana transit warehouse.
The journey commenced with a comprehensive physical verification of all stocks by Advantis, while concurrently uploading the counted stocks into both Inventory Management Systems maintained by the client as well as that of Advantis.
This ensured a seamless stock transfer and issuing process from the client’s warehouse in Wattala to the Advantis Distribution Center in Kelaniya, without any disruption to product delivery, on-going finished product transfers from the factory at Horana, import and export shipment handling or management of product returns from distributors.
The products transferred from Wattala to the Kelaniya Distribution Center were uploaded through the Goods Transfer Notes created from the client’s Inventory Management System onto the Advantis Warehouse Management System (Red Prairie WMS). A transfer schedule was put in place with a stock categorization based on product throughput, giving priority for transfer of slow moving products, ensuring a smooth flow of stocks without disrupting daily deliveries.
